The Whistler Naturalists would like to thank everyone who made our 14th annual BioBlitz a success—an event to highlight and research the rich biodiversity in our area. First, to the quality and quantity of 20+ scientists and volunteers, some of who are the best in B.C. in their field.

The event started virtually in Spring Creek and Myrtle Philip Community schools where BioBlitz scientists presented to several classes and several dozens of students. Thanks to this year's presenters Andy McKinnon, Tyler Kelly, Scott Gilmore, Kevin Bell, and Sean McCann students had opportunities to learn about forest ecology, pollinators, insect diversity, birds, and spiders. Thanks to all the students and teachers who had questions and enthusiasm for the presenters.

The Whistler Naturalists would like to thank Pique for writing about our 14th annual BioBlitz  on Aug. 6. In these uncertain times, all involved were so thankful to have the opportunity to celebrate our natural world—even with all the distancing requirements.

We could not have run the event without support from: the Whistler Community Foundation and AWARE as our charitable sponsor; Whistler Blackcomb EpicPromise Giving Council; Creekside Market; Legends; Purebread; and Stewardship Pemberton.

We also can’t thank our visiting and virtual volunteer scientists enough for sharing their knowledge and passion for nature with our community. See you next year!
